Welsh wheelchair rugby player David Anthony nominated for top prize in Evening Post Pride Awards

Yesterday, the South Wales Evening Post announced that Welsh wheelchair rugby player David Anthony had been nominated for top prize in  Evening Post Pride Awards, with the winner scheduled to be announced in a ceremony on April 16 at Brangwyn Hall in Swansea.



Anthony made his national team début in 2008, and his been a regular member of the squad since. He represented Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in wheelchair rugby where his team came in fifth. Taking up the sport in 2006 after seeing a demo, he plays domestically for the Cardiff Pirates.  Anthony  was born in Neath and has muscular dystrophy.


Anthony is nominated alongside Wales football manager Chris Coleman, and fellow Paralympic competitor Paul Karabardak.
